WELCOME TO IKE MARKETPLACEIKE Marketplace is the place for investors looking for small business investments in the State of Kansas and entrepreneurs raising start up or expansion capital in Kansas under the IKE (Invest Kansas Exemption) program. For investors IKE Marketplace acts as a source of information and can act as an escrow agent. Our goal is to list as many current IKE offerings as we can, giving investors a one stop source of potential investments that meet their interests. We also help to ensure that investors comply with IKE investment limits or that they are exempt from those limits. If the entrepreneur and investor agree, IKE Marketplace can also act as an escrow agent, holding invested funds in an account at our bank (but separate from our account) until the conditions to release them to the entrepreneur or return them to the investor are met (due to costs involved in providing this service, we must charge a fee of $50 for it). For accredited investors, we can also maintain proof of your status on file and provide it to listed entrepreneurs in whose offerings you are interested, saving you the trouble of proving your status over and over. For entrepreneurs we provide a place to let potential investors know about your IKE offering. In the process of ensuring that investors meet IKE limits, we also ensure that entrepreneurs comply with these limits. To list their IKE offering on IKE Investors, entrepreneurs pay a fee of $50 or 0.05% (five-one hundredths of one percent) of the total amount of financing sought, whichever is greater (your listing remains on the site for one year or until fully financed, whichever comes first). An additional fee of 3.25% (plus 50 cents if the amount is less than $500) applies if we accept funds for the entrepreneur through our website. As noted above, we can also act as an escrow agent if desired. IKE Marketplace lists offerings by the county in which the business is or is to be located, the type of business, and the type(s) of investment(s) offered. All offerings must be approved by the Kansas Commissioner of Securities under the IKE program before they are made active on our website. At this time were just starting to solicit listings, so there may be few, if any, listings to view right now, but we expect to become your best source for IKE program investments. If you dont find what youre looking for in an investment, check back, we expect to be adding new opportunities all the time. Click here for a short report describing how IKE offerings work. Check our I Like Ike blog for weekly articles on starting, expanding, and investing in small businesses. See our Facebook page for announcements about the website. Follow us on Twitter for instant notifications when we post new offerings.
